Can’t quite believe that this time next week I will be home,
if flights etc all go according to plan.
But am keeping myself busy and not thinking about the flight yet! You
know that flying is not my favourite... but the thought of seeing my family at
the other end will make it all worth it.
Bullet points this week...as I am slacking:
-
Dennis is continuing to do well with his
apprenticeship. Will pay him a final
visit tomorrow.
-
Visited Jinjja with Brian to see his craft
groups and savings groups. Started my Christmas shopping!
-
Visited some kids in boarding to say goodbye.
-
Visited the babies of RUHU – they always make me
smile. Think they will miss the ice-cream and biscuits more than me!
-
Caught up with a friend from the village –
Sharron. Thanks to all who help with her
brothers’ school fees – next term has been cleared.
-
Finished up at school as it is the end of
term. Helped with report writing –
completely different ball game to back home.
Fellow teachers, can you imagine the outcry there would be if we ranked
the children in terms of their academic position within the class and then
recorded this in their report?! That’s how they do it here
-
Finished up with my little healing hearts
children and got some lovely notes from them.
-
Visited the Sudanese ladies at their English
class to say goodbye – I don’t know who they are going to laugh at once I am
gone – the Scottish accent seems to really tickle them, as they are used to
having an American teacher!
-
Visited Katwe a couple of times to say goodbye
to the girls. Am really going to miss
them. They need big prayers; will maybe do
a separate post about them at some point...
-
Enjoyed spending time with the Sweazy children –
glasses and crowns this week. Please
pray for this dear family as they are still waiting for the adoption to be
granted...it has been a long time....
-
Visited boys and girls at RUHU to say goodbye
As always thank you to everyone for their love, prayers and
support. Xxx
