Please pray for Dennis
who I mentioned in my previous blogs. A dear friend of mine, Betty,
had taken Dennis off the streets to stay with his relatives in the village
until a space became available at Teen Challenge for rehab. However the latest news is that he has run
away from the village and is back on the streets... but Betty cannot find
him. Pray that God would comfort and
protect Dennis wherever he is and that he would know he is loved.
Please pray for the young mums and babies
living in Katwe slum. Their lives are so
chaotic and there is much darkness in this place. Please pray for breakthrough
in their lives.
Please pray for Kathy’s boys from the
shelter. They were all resettled during
my last trip, but not under ideal circumstances. They are now scattered and I’ve heard through
the grapevine that one particular boy, who is very close to my heart, is back
on the streets.
Please pray for all the precious
children at RUHU that I know and love, including my sponsor boy Lwanga. They lost one of the boys from boys’ home a
few weeks ago due to malaria.
Finally please pray for my dear friend
Uncle Isaac, who has driven me faithfully on his boda (motorcycle) for years.
Whilst praying in the New Year at church his boda was stolen, along with his
livelihood and source of income. Please
pray for provision for this sweet family.
Whilst these prayer points can make for depressive reading in that they
highlight much suffering, please do not be discouraged.
As I think of all my dear friends and contacts in Uganda and how much I
love them all, I am reminded that God loves them more than I ever could and
that He sees their pain and is at work in their situations and their lives,
even if we cannot see it clearly just now.
He can do more than we could ask or imagine.
Regarding my plans to return to Uganda...my health is still not great
so no imminent plans. Will just continue
to rest up and trust in the Lord’s timing, enjoying the blessings of family and
friends for now.
